So here’s my take: everyone could really blow up in basketball if given enough chance and other people’s trust on him. Like hello, this is suppose to be one of the best performances this season (37 points, 11 rebounds, 15/20 FG) and the fact that the player is virtually an unknown and an undrafted rookie makes the story much cooler. Kudos to Nelson for giving Anthony Morrow enough support to just do his own thing.  Kudos to  the other Golden  State Players to just give chance to him and all. Kudos to Morrow for capitalizing on all the confidence given on him. Kudos to Yahoo for having this story. Kudos to NBA for these games that bring inspiration and all.

I should be in the pits with my Lakers losing this game with the Pistons.  Like damn, a horrible shooting spree by the Lakers. Plus the fact that they could not step up to their defense and everything. Sheed’s offense  was like totally awesome where Pau and Bynum’s Twin Towers could not really go on into. Plus the fact that Iverson was totally wicked with his 25 points and everything. Man do he really buzz up on the Piston’s guns and ammos. And remember Kwame Brown? The one piece responsible for Gasol in LA? Well, he did a pretty good game in my books. Double double and stuff. What must also be considered is the fact that only 2 (24 and the ex Grizzly) of the starters only showed up. Damn. And Kobe was also held up to only connect a dozen shots out of 30 tries.

But the amazing stuff? I aint that sad. I think the Lakers losing that game was just cool. Nuts? Maybe. But let me tell you what, better now than later ayt?

Like Lakers do have some problems with how to guard good shooters and a good rhythm and everything ayt? Then people on the team could get too scrappy at times and wait on Kobe or on Pau to bail the team out but they aint gods man. And the most noticeable fact, with a hardcore defense and unorthodox offense the Lakers would really have a hard time fighting the odds.

Hence, the lost game was just a good thing to happen for our guys to just figure things out early in the season. Like with this they could have a reality check on how to improve upon the Xs and Os and on how to strategize. It’s one of those times that people got to know that mortality still looms somewhere so they just have to check things out before those mistakes could not be patched or anything.

Got nothing to fear with the loss. Like ei, a 7-1 start? That’s the best for this season man. The last team to loss. And only for nine points even with the lousy game our guys had provided. Plus, Kobe missed almost half his shots and still posted 29 points? That’s wicked sick to the brim.

Phil would think of something. The bench mob would learn to step up to help the front lines. Bynum and Pau would learn to co – exist better. Kobe would solidify better his legacy. The Lakers would come out a lot experienced because of this. And besides, better the Pistons than the Celtics come xmas ayt?

“I agree with that point struck with the Topic Name. It really lacks the finesse that calls for a rational discussion given the fact that we Filipinos scream of cultural equality. Personally I think a better title could had been chosen.

I also agree with the economy boost thing. My girlfriend had been recently employed by them and if it were not for the fact that they had been late in contacting me to say that I could work for them then I could had also taught a young Korean the basics of the English Language myself, something that I am also looking forward to in the near future if this counseling stuff does not work out.

In fact, we must be thankful for the fact that they are “making an aggregate contribution of over $1 billion per year in consumer spending” in our country as determined by wikepedia.org.

Aside from that kashing stuff I think the sharing of culture exceeds the obvious financial reasons. Like the fact that we Filipinos are fond of Korean Movies and Shows (collects a handful of DVDS or saves the digital rips myself). Plus for me I just love the games that they create or produce at one point or another, most notably StarCraft and Ragnarok and technically even the mod map DOTA (my favorite team mates back in the days were some korean dudes, albeit the difficulty synchronizing our game strategies with the inherent language barrier).

But then some issues are needed to be discussed with the Korean Surge. Much as we welcome them to open up businesses and even to some degree purchase lands (which btw is kinda contrary to our constitution but I am not that sure of with the exact legal parameters so let us just say I will research on this again to augment this bwahahaha) I just think that the fact that “in July 2007, the South Korean embassy, under pressure from Korean businessmen in the Philippines complaining of “harassment and extortion” by Philippine immigration officials, stopped issuing visas to Filipinos headed to South Korea for work” (again from wikipedia). I dunno but with almost everyone in this land opening our arms for them when they try to make a living we would also expect them to do the same when it’s our turn to make bones for ourselves in their door steps right?

Aside from that is the blatant fact that they haven’t really embrace our culture. They had just brought their culture with them on our shores. Like this …

My point is that they could have at least shown the willingness to adjust to our culture and not the other way around again. The basic norms are sometimes thrown to bits here in Baguio especially with the fact that they talk so freaking loud like every time especially when they hassle together. Basically it aint talking na per se but actually shouting with each other. Have any Baguio Citizen to give one basic adjective of them and they would pick out “noisy” by most regards.

And the second adjective? “Cruel”. Yeah, we know from their culture that it is normative for them na maging mabigat ang kanilang mga kamay especially to the way they raise their young. But then that should not really be an excuse for them to just harass waiters, sales ladies, taxi drivers, even their own teachers or whomever people they employ or serves them up. It had been really a phenom in this City that although they are friendly and fun to work for sometimes they forget upon our culture’s indifference to aggressive tendencies especially with the employee – employer relationship stuff.

The fact that hurts to the bone most? The article also said..

Focus on the term “perpetually cash-strapped Philippines”. Much as we are currently having a slight difference of opinions (which I think is invigorating given the fact that DB Activity had been mundane over the last while) I just think that economic remunerations must not be the be-all-end-all of every foreign-local issue that we have. I think the rule of our land and customs must still be upheld, if not by the Government (who I think are off to kimchi sponsored vacations [sorry for stealing your own term mahal, love you]), then by us who are the common tao per se.

Yes, Koreans are here to stay. “It seems that generations of Koreans are likely to be a big part of local life for years to come – from students just starting out, to grandparents resting by the seaside.”, said this article. I do not shun away from them, in fact I am looking forward to a Korean neighbor or to a Korean Dota Friend (miss you Outer Haven Guys). It is just that I think there are some issues that must be address or have to thoroughly discuss upon before everything goes out of control.

I just think we Filipinos and Koreans are on each others’ tether already with the pragmatism of our relationship keeping the bond functional at some degree. But all it takes is some serious incident that would really flare up each other’s tempers to the degree that we’d have a line severing our ties. And that is what I am afraid of. That is the main reason why I do hold this personal advocacy to just scream “FOUL” with the land owning stuff and kor business establishments even if I do hold them in high regards.

PS Damn PRC for not telling peopel when the LET Results would really come on. Like all they have to do is change what’s in their website from “results will be posted wiithin the week” (which is like in there for 3 weeks already) to “[specific date]“.

Right now I am just dying to crucify a PRC Staff for the mental anxiety I am experiencing. Think we could sue them for this anguish we are all feeling, my fellow LET examinees?

Just think about it, numbers do not lie. And if we could really test the veracity of the claims then we’d also be having that Caesar-like celebration not only come June next year but in the coming years to come. The predictive validity needs to be checked alright, but at this point and time this is the best thing we could have to really assure ourselves jubilation come Showtime.

I know THE TEAM has what it takes to be champions. Damn there are even before the Gasol trade. But right now, at this season, they have all the right bullets and guns to do the job. They have the greatest player in the planet who’d have the best chances to have another MVP award, they have two twin towers who would scare away anybody who wanders on the low post, the Bench Mob who could start at some NBA teams, with Odom contributing so much FROM the bench, the Zen Coach who is also going after the most Championships and of course the fact that this team had been denied for that Gold so hard that it still stinks over

Just some heads up, injuries must be kept to a minimum. Like Kobe is already playing with a hurt pinkie and Trevor and Bynum are just coming from their last season’s injuries. Also with the renewed focus on defense, it is important that it must continue until the very last game in June. And the rotation must be balanced accordingly, like THE TEAM had already a lot of talents so everyone must have the proper minutes.

But ei, I still believe in the fact that this is the year.  So, fellow Lakers Fans, let us just roar together and bleed with Purple and Gold forever.

PS. I think it is but proper and prudent for the Lakers Management to also think about long term considerations for THE TEAM. Some issues are needed to be addressed. Like Kobe’s allege inclinations to play it out in some European League. Or with Lamar’s contract. Or maybe with The Fish eventual retirement. Cap space.  Or maybe how to plan that Finals Grand Parade. Hahahahaha.
